Get to know, Pickalilly

Online shopping

Before Hudson, I never shopped online. But having a newborn and not being able to go out and shop as you please, did leave me a little disheartened, until I started doing some online shopping. One of my very first online purchases was on Spree. I bought Hudson two outfits from the brands called Pickalilly. I still remember tell my husband, how impressed I was with the quality of the brand. I knew I wanted and needed more; and so my love for Pickalilly clothing grew. Hudson actually wore the bunny vest from Pickalilly at his first birthday party.

Meet the founders, Liesl and Gabi

Pickalilly, was founded in June 2012 by Liesl and Gabi. These two ladies saw a need for pretty and practical baby and kids products that both a mom and her baby would love. That’s how Pickalilly was born. Pickalilly supports local businesses and all their products are made in South Africa by the Pickalilly team. Gabi is the creative brain behind Pickalilly’s designs. She and her husband Greg are parents to Hannah and Lilly. Liesl is the practical and administrative one in the team that also deals with the many markets Pickalilly participates in. She is the wife of Jaco and mom of three, Daniel, Carli and June’. Liesl has also written a book that shares her experience and practical tips for those first few months of welcoming a new little one into the family

We saw a gap in the baby market that could offer better quality clothing at affordable prices, and in 2012 Pickalilly was born.

When did you start Pickalily, and why?

We started in 2012 ; there was a gap in the market for better quality clothing that was affordable than bigger brands.
