A few weeks ago, I posted about the amazing results that I have been seeing from the Esse Probiotic Skincare range. I honestly can not get enough of this product. Best of all it is proudly South African.
About the brand
Esse creates an environment on the skin that favours the growth of beneficial microbes. It uses prebiotics to selectively feed good microbes and includes LIVE probiotic microbes in two of the serums to make functional changes to the skin’s microbiome. Esse does not believe in damaging skin in pursuit of short-term results, it optimises skin health to slow ageing in the long-term.
Whenever I see the words optimises and slow ageing, I am always a bit skeptical. I am sure I am not the only one. You have probably found yourself spending a lot of money on products that do not deliver on their promises. Esse probiotic skincare delivers! From the comments alone on my Instagram post, I could tell there are a lot of you who swear by this product and the results that it delivers.
Three Ranges
Esse Core – http://www.esseskincare.com/product_category/esse-core/
Esse Sensitive- http://www.esseskincare.com/product_category/esse-sensitive/
Esse Plus – http://www.esseskincare.com/product_category/esse-plus/
Each range is uniquely formulated for the specific needs of different skin types. The website is very user friendly and it almost feels as if you are “speaking” to a consultant. One of the features on the website is called Skin Concerns. It lists the different type of concerns; lists the causes and also recommend products from the range that will target the problem areas. See for example the skin concern acne http://www.esseskincare.com/skin-concern/acne/
Why Probiotic?
This word seems to be popping up everywhere lately. Well, it is something that you have to consider and its time to invest.
YOUR SKIN MICROBES ARE AS IMPORTANT AS YOUR GUT MICROBES.

What I love
There is so much that I love about this product. From the packaging and how user friendly it is. Firstly I did a skin analysis questionnaire, to ensure that the right products for my skin are selected. This is a very important step to ensure that you are getting the right products for your skin concerns and needs.
The refining cleanser is a purifying clay based cleanser. A little of this goes a long way and it really leaves my skin glowing after using it. It is a lightly foaming clay wash that exfoliates while detoxifying. Bentonite clay particles act as superfine exfoliating granules while drawing toxins. Kalahari Melon Oil adds omega-6 essential fatty acids to help maintain skin lipids. All the goodness you need in a cleanser. The refining cleanser is suitable for all skin types.
The Toner plus; I love! It is a probiotic defense spritz and you literally just spritz it onto your face and neck area, and just let it dry. No need to use cotton wool; it naturally absorbs into the skin. This toner is suitable for all skin types.
Lactobacillus cells are the source of the key active in this toner. The cell contents help to maintain the skin’s natural barrier function. Prebiotics are added to provide a nutrient source that favours a healthy skin ecosystem.
I love that this comes with a little applicator. You scoop out a little bit of the product and apply it directly onto your skin. Best of all; you only need a little of this goodness and it absorbs into your skin so quickly. This is suitable for normal and combination skin.
Esse Deep Moisturiser will moisturise and maintain balance without leaving greasy residues or dry areas. Prebiotics and Probiotic extracts strengthen barrier function.
