Happy 2019 lovelies! May all your wishes and dreams come true, and your life (personal and professionally) filled with an abundance of blessings. I decided that this year, there will be no new years resolutions, but that I would set daily and monthly goals for myself. The number one goal everyday is that I am going to be much kinder to myself. I have also decided that this year, I am going to spoil myself at least once a month with a treatment, body or facial.

A few weeks ago I attended the launch of the new Dermalogica Concept store in Tygervalley. At the the time I did not know this, but Dermalogica offers a free skin analysis that takes only 10 minutes? My skin’s condition is definitely not the same as it was ten years ago, thus the same products that “worked” then will not necessarily deliver the results that I need now. It’s so vital that you get the right products that suit and can tend to the needs that your skin has. I booked my appointment telephonically and was able to get an appointment the same day. I was met by a very friendly therapist named Liza-Marie, who explained that I had to fill in all my details and skin concerns that I had on an iPad. This whole process took less than 10 minutes . Once your information has been stored, you are not confined to getting your treatments at just one store. Your information can be accessed by any Dermalogica concept store- which is great as it gives them a history of the appointments you’ve had as well as products that you are using. You also take a “before” photo, that will not be publicised; which means you can actually see the difference and progress when you do follow up treatments.

The treatment that I had is called ProSkin 60. The treatment is customised to the needs of your skin, with advanced Dermalogica products, techniques and technology in a soothing environment made for relaxation. The treatment room was very inviting with a sense of tranquillity that mere words can not explain. The ProSkin 60 treatment is the ideal choice for those who want a comprehensive experience to address all skin concerns and achieve healthy glowing skin. The treatment lasts for 60 minutes.

In the beginning of the treatment, your therapist will ask you if you have any concerns that you would like them to address. One of my concerns was that I have some dry patches on my forehead; chin and around my nose area. I rarely exfoliate, and after my treatment now know the importance of it. My therapist was Kelly, and she talked me through every step. Having not have had a facial in so many months, it was much appreciated that Kelly was so knowledgable in not only the products that she used on my face, but also the active ingredients in the products. I decided not to video tape the treatment itself, as I wanted it to be a relaxing experience and I also did not want to make the therapist feel like she had a phone in her face while she was working.

After the treatment, Kelly sat down with me to recommend a few products that was best suited for my skin type and the concerns that I had.

I also loved that they had an information sheet, that showed you how many uses you can get from a product. Kelly also showed me just how much I needed from each product.

I am very excited to start my journey with Dermalogica this year. Knowing that I am being much kinder to my skin and using the best products to target my concerns are very reassuring.
