Hudson turns TWO

It has been almost three weeks since he turned two and I am still so shocked at speedily these last few months flew by. I have tried to capture so many moments, trying to bottle it up because I do not want to forget him at this age. The morning he turned two, he was up so early, almost like he knew it was his special day. His Dad and I sang to him and he even joined in with hip, hip, hoooooooray! I have so many wishes for him as he grows up and I wish I could bubble wrap him, sometimes, but I also know that he needs to learn. We did not have a big party for him this year, because I want to teach him the value of celebrating life and not material things. As stated before in the post I wrote about his 1st bday party, we will have a party for him every second year, maybe even every 3 years. We did however arrange a little styled shoot. Hold your memories close in photographs and smile and take them as often as you can. With each shoot comes some planning. Having a theme makes it a little easier because then you can look at different styling ideas in terms of decor, cake and cookie design, outfits for the family.

The amazingly talented Nikki Oliver from Nikki Oliver Photography also shot Hudson’s Up, Up and Away First Birthday shoot. She has a way of capturing Hudson in his truest form, and each photograph just oozes love and happiness. We also worked with Faranaaz from Faraway Events that also did the styling for the above mentioned shoot and De Daisy who did all design and printing. Last but not least Nectar and Spice. The owner Margaret did my cookies, treats and cakes for my bridal shower way back when, when she was still working from her home in Strand. She is now based in Durbanville and everything she makes is gold
