Aww where do I even start with my love affair with The Body Shop. I first came across this brand while living in Asia and fell deeply in love with it. Upon returning to South Africa on holidays, my suitcase was usually packed with my favourite The Body Shop products. Christmas being one of my all time favourite collections. Today, the 4th of February , The Body Shop will be launching a new limited edition range called Cactus Blossoms.

Cactus Blossom Body Butter; Cactus Blossom Body Yoghurt; Cactus Blossom Body Scrub; Cactus Blossom Shower Gel

What makes this range different?

Each product from the limited edition Cactus Blossom Range is infused with the floral-fruity fragrance of cactus blossom. The range consists out of five products (Four of them are featured above – Cactus Blossom Hand wash is not featured). Interesting to take note of is that the formulas are enriched with night-blooming cactus extract from Morocco. I also have to mention how beautifully packaged this range is, and as usual The Body Shop has gone all out. The Cactus Blossom range has a fresh and sophisticated fragrance with top notes of star fruit and orange; heart notes of hibiscus and cardamom and base notes of musk and vanilla.

Cactus Blossom Body Butter

Ironically, summer time is the season that my skin gets the most dehydrated. So when I read up on the above product and it stated that your skin can stay moisturised for up to 72 hours, I just had to put it to the test. Ingredients include shea and cocoa butter from Ghana and conditioning sesame see oil from Brazil. I find that some body butters tend to be quite heavy and takes awhile to absorb and nourish the skin. The Cactus Blossom body butter, however absorbs into the skin with ease, leaving your skin refreshed and you do not get that heavy oily sensation that some body butter tend to leave.

Cactus Blossom Body Yoghurt

If you do not suffer from dry skin, but still need some hydration then this product is definitely for you. It is a lightweight and fast absorbing all-over body moisturiser that leaves your skin hydrated, smooth and soft. Hyaluronic acid provide continuous moisture to your skin throughout the day. Ingredients include; moisturising shea butter from Ghana and conditioning organic almond milk from Spain. You can massage the yoghurt onto wet or dry skin after taking a bath or shower to lock in moisture for up to 48 hours.

Cactus Blossom Body Scrub

If you are looking for a gentle scrub to exfoliate and that removes dead skin cells and still allows for the smooth skin underneath to better absorb moisturiser, then look no further. Infused with raspberry seeds and hydrated silica to gently exfoliate the skin, this body scrub will leave you wanting more! Apply to wet skin and gently exfoliate by using circular motions, before rinsing off.

Cactus Blossom Shower Gel

The Cactus Blossom Shower Gel is a soap-free body wash that cleanses and leaves your skin feeling and smelling fresh. And I was not the only one that thought that this was an amazing product. Daniel left for Jhb last week and according to him “mistakenly” packed the shower gel in his toiletry bag. He came home last week Thursday with this:

But i can not blame him , it is that good! Lather between your hands and apply to your skin. Rinse thoroughly and follow with a moisturiser.
