Does a place even exist that has a Tree House, all the luxuries plus a SPA? Yes! Yes, it does. Vindoux Tree House Guest Farm and Spa . Set in the historic town of Tulbagh, surrounded by the Saronsberg Mountains is this beautiful family run farm and Spa. Boasting luxurious tree house accommodation between fruit trees and vineyards.

Escape to your own little piece of heaven that is only a 90 minutes scenic drive from Cape Town. Now that we are on level 2, more and more people will be taking advantage of take a break away from home. Vindoux has taken all the necessary precautions for your health and safety concerns. When we arrived on the farm, we were greeted by our hosts who wore face-masks and took all of our temperatures.

I have seen photos of the Deluxe Self Catering Tree Lodge that we were going to stay in, but nothing could have prepared me to see the lodge in real life. The biggest Tree House I have ever seen. But more than that, you should have seen Hudson’s face light up when he saw the Tree house and the slide and sand pit.

The Tree Lodge sleeps between 4-8 people. There are two main bed rooms, each with its own bath room and bath tub, and another room with two single bed, plus another bath room. All the bedrooms are fitted with the highest quality linen. There are also extra blankets and towels if needed. There is also a sleeper couch that can sleep two people in the lounge area. The indoor space is huge. I loved that there was a space for everyone. Hudson could play with his toys in the living room, while Levi and I sat on the couch looking at the beautiful view, and Daniel could relax and catch up on some reading on the sleeper couch. We ordered a braai pack for two for the Friday night, plus some extra wood. You can make this arrangement prior to your stay as well.

Besides the bathroom area, I absolutely loved the kitchen. It’s a dream, with EVERYTHING that you need. It is definitely one of the few places that we have visited that had everything I had in my kitchen at home, right there. The views from this gorgeous lodge is beyond spectacular. The lodge is equipped with floor-to-ceiling roll up blinds that allow endless views over the orchards and to the mountain ranges beyond. The Tree Lodge also has a big outside space, with its own private entrance and fenced perimeter, that includes a large braai area with seating, a lawned garden and an enclosed pool for a refreshing dip during the summer time, or if you are brave enough to splash in it during winter. Well behaved pets are also welcome by arrangement. You can check the Pet Policy here . Again, it’s the small things that make the biggest impact. From the hand sanitiser at the door, the beautifully freshly picked flowers on the table. The extra milk and Still water in the refrigerator and the bathroom amenities. The soap, shampoo and conditioner and body wash and bath salt is made on the farm, which made it extra special.

Vindoux also has a SPA on site. We decided to explore the farm a little on the Saturday and was met by Max, one of the friendliest farm dogs. He loved to play fetch and he was so friendly. We managed to see some Springboks and a Zebra.

The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing both indoors as well as outdoors. The evenings were very cold. The Tree Lodge has a gas heater and all the bedrooms are fitted with electric blankets and if you forgot your robe at home, Vindoux has got you covered.
