The great thing about this series is that, the toys are developed for different stages in your infant’s development. Hudson received the following, a Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Storybook Rhymes.
When I taught overseas, all our lessons were based on learning through visual, rhythm, play and do. Whenever new words or sentences were introduced it was done through showing it visually; adding a rhyme; creating a game and then having the child do an activity. With the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Storybook Rhymes, you are able to introduce your baby to nursery rhymes, letters, colours and numbers. The light up buttons have even more content and introduces ABCs; numbers and shapes. When you turn each page, you are able to hear six traditional favourites like Pat-a-Cake or Row, Row, Row Your Boat.
It is amazing to see how quickly Hudson started engaging with the book. At 11 months old; he is learning cause and effect, and its so rewarding to see him turning the pages with his tiny fingers and seeing his face light up when he sees the lights flashing. Fisher- Price definitely kept their consumer and in this case user in mind when developing this product. The Rhymes book is suitable for ages 6 months and up. The pictures are colorful and appropriate to the infants age. From each picture one can introduce your infant to colors; shapes; counting and items on the page. I also love that its easy to carry around with the little handle on top. Hudson has started chewing on the edges as well; and unlike the pages of a real book; hos rhymes book will probably last longer. Another thing that I love about this book is that once; Hudson starts school and when he starts to learn how to read; one can use this book to practice sight words. As an educator there is so much that I can foresee the two of us doing with this book and I am excited to see Hudson growing and developing with Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn.
