Our Wine and Hospitality Industries have suffered so much during this Pandemic. A domino effect that left thousands without answers and a way forward for so long. It was with gratitude and blessings when level 2 was announced. Slowly but surely we started to adapt. Our Kunjani Weekend Stay came at the perfect time for a quick getaway. Kunjani means ‘Hi, how are you?’ and that is exactly how friendships start. Would you believe that hubby and I actually met on a blind date about a stone throw away from Kunjani”? That is why the Bottelary Hills sub-route of Stellenbosch region, will always be a special place for us.
Paul Barth & Pia Watermeyer, husband-and-wife team and owners of Kunjani, have created a contemporary and soulful establishment that reflects cross-continental influences like no other in the Winelands of the Western Cape. It is here where good food, fine wine and luxurious accommodation combine to truly reflect the good life … and the true character of this spectacular place where love and passion are reflected in every creation.
If you are looking for the Top Billing experience, look no further. Paul and Pia have spent so much time looking into creating relaxing and top class accommodation that takes care of all your needs. The farm hosts four villas. Information on the Shiraz Villa can be found here Information on the Merlot Villa can be found here Information on the Carbernet Villa can be found here

We received a Local Artisinal Cheese Platter with two bottles of wine. A red and white wine. The platter included locally sourced Jersey & goat’s milk cheese, pineapple and ginger preserve, marinated olives, bread and a variety of cold meats.
On the Saturday morning, Hudson and I took a walk to explore a litte. I loved the open spaces. He could run and explore, while I kept a close eye on him. The weather was not great, but it cleared up just a little for us to do some exploring.
We had a lunch reservation for the afternoon, but because the weather was not great, we did not want to leave our cozy and warm accommodation and opted to have lunch indoors. Lunch was amazing! I had the Crispy Soy-Glazed Pork Belly and it was served with potato puree, apple sauce, grilled pineapple cubes and seasonal vegetables. Hubby had the Red Wine Oven Roasted Lamb Shank and it was served with mashed potato and seasonal vegetables. For the boys we ordered a pizza. And of course dessert was Chocolate Nougat Mousse and it was served with vanilla ice cream, pistachio crumbs, brandy snap.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Even though the weather did not play along with us, we had everything to keep the kids busy, we relaxed and they had fun.
