Skin Health- Simplified BOTANē Skin Actives

The older I am getting, the more I am realizing that the health of my skin is just as important as the health of my body. As a teenager I struggled with acne and was very self conscious about my appearance. In my twenties, I had the idea that its too early to start with a skincare regime. I wish I could go back in time and smack that idea right out of my head. Caring for your skin is so important and starting earlier than later is so imperative. During my pregnancy, I expected to have that glow. I checked for that “glow” everyday and no matter how long I stared at my appearance, I would just not see that halo of light appear around my face. Needless to say this period also found me being very self conscious about my appearance and left me with no other choice than to cake and bake my face. Being a mom now, I soon realized that I do not have the luxury of “putting” on a face every time that I leave the house. Which has left me leaving the house “naked” and sometimes ashamed many times before. I have used so many products; international and asian brands; but my love for local products has continued to grow and I was very excited when I was asked to do a review for BOTANē Skin Actives.

The beginning…

Meet the founder, Rachel Nye, who brings this local botanical skin care line that promises healthy, gorgeous-looking skin right to into your home…

Rachel is Canadian and an American by birth, who is married to the love of her life who is South African. With the abundant knowledge of preventive and clinical medicine she saw the need for a local, plant-based, science-backed skincare range in South Africa. The rest as they say in the movies is history… and Rachel gave birth to her child/children BOTANē Skin Actives . I have only had the pleasure of chatting to Rachel online, while she is in California growing her brand name in the States. Nut one of the things that she has said to me is ” Life is a balance right? Slowly getting it! Practice Practice” another one of those quotes to inspire one to follow your passion and to make your dreams a reality.

What’s in the name?

“BOTANē comes from the Greek word for medicinal plant – which encapsulates our ethos. Plants offer vital nutritional elements for healing just about anything. Our line promotes a balanced, healthy way of living without compromising our body or the environment.”

“BOTANē Skin Actives delivers targeted skin actives with age-defying botanicals, potent antioxidants and protein-boosting peptides to restructure and rejuvenate the skin. Your skin cells will have fun again, all 10 trillion of them.”

TEN TRILLION Skin cells??? Yip and what better way than to keep them jolly with all natural goodness. Before we have a look at my review let’s peruse what BOTANē Skin Actives has to offer. There brand ranges over five products for the following:

  • Cleanse

  • Eye

  • Hydrate

  • Serum

  • Elixir

Product Review

Introducing  BOTANē Skin Actives Peptide Créme.

What does the product promise to deliver?

This is an advanced de-aging créme that restores elasticity whild building youthful skin proteins. At my current age, anything that has de-aging and youthful in one sentence speaks to me. But you get so many products on the market that proclaim that it can restore elasticity and youthful skin proteins.

What makes this different and what do I love about it?

Less is more; you do not need to squeeze out a lot of the product to reap its benefits. Thus a little goes a long way. I love a product that absorbs quickly into my skin, leaving it with that refreshed look and glow. The smell is not overpowering at all; and it has that unique “walking into a forest with birds chirping and butterflies flying around” scent. I use this product twice a day.

Why do you need it?

Because I said so!, Obviously, because you want to invest in yourself; treat and nurture your skin as its the only one you have, unless miraculously they invent an in and out of body suit gimmick one day.

Where can you read more about it?
