With my first pregnancy, I was not clued up at all, as to what products to use during and after pregnancy. I knew that with all the changes, there would be aches, pains and the dreaded stretch marks. My stretch marks only started appearing in my third trimester. They did not creep in, but made a grand appearance all at once. By now you have probably seen the Natralogic range all over social media. As I have mentioned before, I loved watching Keratilwe’s from One.loved.mama ‘s pregnancy journey. She did not give the products a once of mention, but continuously wrote about the Natralogic Range that she was using. This immediately left me feeling confident about trying out the range for myself. Of course I said yes, to doing a review, because I was quite curious to see what this local maternity skincare brand was all about.

Meet the Boss Mom
Lauren holds a 6-year Master’s Degree in Pure and Applied Chemistry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal where she graduated with several Certificates of Merit and Deans Commendations. She has also published several articles in peer review Journals including the Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, the Journal of Peptide Research and Therapeutics and the Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Review. Her Master’s thesis, at the time of publication, was considered to a viable cure for cancer. Lauren also holds a 2-year Diploma in Cosmetic Chemistry from the Society of Cosmetic Science South Africa where she graduated top in the country and received the Norman Sanan Award for most innovative product design.
In 2011, Lauren began pursuing her real passion in the personal care industry. She has been involved in the research, development, new innovation and manufacture of some of South Africa’s leading skin care products. However, it wasn’t until Lauren became pregnant with her first child that she became very discouraged in trying to find safe and effective skincare products to use during her pregnancy. The majority of products available in South Africa for pregnant mothers contained harmful ingredients that are not recommended for use during pregnancy as they have been associated with miscarriage, bleeding complications, congenital disabilities, disruption in fetal growth and some are known carcinogens.
With all the knowledge and credentials above, you know that these products do not contain any nasties. It actually makes you think twice as to what you are using on your own skin, but also, what you are using on your child’s skin as well.
The Products
Firstly the products are made in South Africa. The material used is recyclable. Lastly this range is also recognised by The Vegan Society and Beauty without Cruelty. I received the following products to review:
The Tummy crème
With Hudson I did not have an itchy belly at all. The itchiness started around 14 weeks already with this pregnancy, and I had given up hope that there was anything in the market that could give me some relief. Until, I started using this product. The Tummy Crème has been scientifically designed for effective prevention and correction of the appearance of stretch marks during and after pregnancy. The formulation contains a proprietary blend of natural active ingredients that work synergistically to help promote collagen and elastin production, allowing an improvement in skin tone and elasticity.

What I love about this product
The first thing I was impressed with was the bottle design. Secondly the smell the reminded me of walking in a field of Lavender. Very subtle and not over powering. Thirdly, the texture of the product, was delicate, lush and smooth and easy absorbed. You’ll want to lather your whole body up with this crème. I am using it sparingly though, to make every single drop count. Use twice a day, concentrating on areas prone to stretching such as the stomach, breasts, hips and thighs.
Toning Massage Oil
The Toning Massage Oil, firms and tones problem areas. Natralogic Toning Massage Oil has been scientifically designed to tone, firm and restore moisture to the skin during and after pregnancy. What I love about this product
I use this product right after getting out of the shower on my damp skin. I love that it absorbs instantly and does not leave my skin with that greasy feel. This oil, I use all over my body, stomach, breasts, hips, buttocks and thighs. One can also use this as a massage oil.
Exfoliating Crème
Gently exfoliates skin and it aids in stretch mark prevention. What I love about this product
This product is the first I grab when I step into the shower. I already have stretch marks from my first pregnancy, and this helps in preventing more of those little lines to sneak up on me.
Cooling Leg Gel
I actually thought that being pregnant in Winter meant that I would not be getting the swollen legs and feet. Boy was I wrong. With Hudson my feet grew from a size 4 to a size 7/8. It shrunk back after a year, and now, it has started growing again. Perfect excuse to get a leg and foot rub from your partner.

What I love about this product
I absolutely love that it is now available to use. With Hudson, I could not find any product that helped with swollen legs and feet. Bonus, I get free massages from the husband.
Nipple Crème
Another new for me in this pregnancy is having itchy and dry nipples. i never had that with Hudson, even when I breastfed him. This has been a lifesaver and I carry it in my bag everyday.
Natralogic Nipple Crème is 100% ultrapure medical grade lanolin that will help ease the discomfort of cracked and sore nipples associated with breastfeeding.
