As first time parents to Hudson, I still remember the day my husband and I walked into Baby’s R Us to buy a cot mattress. We had no idea that there were different sizes, different brands, and it left us very overwhelming. So much so, that we left the store without a mattress. I asked a few friends who recently had babies, and Snuggletime was one of the brands that was mentioned the most. After doing some research, we went back to the store with much more knowledge and a better idea of what we needed. Here is a check list to go through before deciding to buying a cot mattress.
Firm mattress
SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome); is definitely a scary subject for all parents to bring up and talk about. But it is one that we need to be aware of. Before my research I have to admit that I thought the softer the mattress the better it would be for a newborn, who is so fragile. You have to choose a firm mattress for your baby.
