Maaiki SA forms part of our Trendy Giveaway prize and they are also featured on our list of local brands to watch in 2018. Nothing attracts me more than a brand that stands true to its name in every sense of the word. They recently launched two new collections, that have been inspired by the South African, Ha Hadedas as well as the leopard. These two collections consists out of beautiful rompers; tee and shorts sets and bloomer and flutter dresses; more about that later.

Meet the owner, Marlé Prinsloo
As a mother who has always had an eye for great fashion, she found it very difficult to find clothing pieces that were comfortable; stylish; practical and easy to mix and match to create different looks. Seeing a need in the market, she took all her energy , drive and passion and created a range not only to suit the needs of her daughter, but also the needs of a lot of fellow moms who often found themselves in this predicament. And so, Maaiki was born.
Prior to starting her venture, Marlé spent 14 years creating and implementing effective communications strategies at PR and advertising agency, Idea Engineers. She was responsible for successful local and international brands. The experience gained gave her meaningful insight to create her online store. While working on an account for Facebook, she started getting more knowledgeable on e-commerce business and this knowledge together with her marketing and PR knowledge, gave her the confidence to start up her own e-commerce business.
