A few weeks ago I received a press drop from Rugani Juice. I have always been a big fan of this all natural, no additives juice that is available from Food Lover’s Market and Dischem.

100% Turmeric Infused Carrot Juice

By adding fresh turmeric, Rugani has infused a measure of goodness to its original root vegetable responsible for starting the veggie extract revolution – its Rugani carrots, produced on premises by Greenway Farm. 100% Zobo Infused Beetroot Juice

Hibiscus is also known as zobo in West Africa. The calyx (sepals) of the roselle (hibiscus sabdariffa) flower is deep magenta in colour. The hibiscus used in the Rugani juicing process has sweet and tart flavours, similar to cranberry. Historically, zobo has been used to decrease body temperature, to treat heart disease, to soothe a sore throat and to treat high blood pressure. Recent studies found hibiscus effective in the treatment of high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Other benefits** also include:

It also ensures that the production chain is closely monitored as every carrot and beetroot counts. As the leaders in carrot agriculture in SA they took it upon themselves to innovate in the agro-processing space to transform fresh produce that could have ended up as waste further down the value chain into a highly bio-available nutraceutical that’s accessible and affordable for all South Africans, the rest of the African continent and the world. On the day of harvest, veggies are transferred from the farm to the juicing facility, where the cell sap is extracted, and the juice is aseptically packaged. The innovative juicing process ruptures 95% of plant cells, making the full nutritional benefits of any veggie more bio-available to your body.

The range of veggie extract juice is particularly high in beta-carotene while no sugar, water or preservatives are added throughout the process and is not made from concentrate.
